My dearest readers… Today, I have that nervous feeling. Nervous about what? Many things… Mainly, I’m nervous about the results I’m getting tomorrow from my son’s testing earlier this month. I’m nervous about that, about my job search that’s been going on for over a month now, and so many other things.
But what do we do with all this nervous energy? I, for one, know that it can take you over if you let it. It turns me into a basket case, to be honest. So, when I get nervous like this, I typically throw myself into projects to try to take my mind off of it.
My last project was my youngest son’s birthday party. I busted my butt on it for about two weeks to make sure that it went off without a hitch. While the day wasn’t perfect, it was a great day for him and everyone who attended, complete with a cake that I stayed up until 2 a.m. perfecting for him.
My latest project (while it is mostly throwing myself into a job search) is getting back in shape. I have split my day up into sections… I wake up, drink coffee, and do a quick job search. After that, I get the kids off to school. I come home, I watch a show on Netflix while working out (lately, I’ve been hula hooping for 45 minutes straight through one show of Chuck… And I’m contemplating moving to Dexter). Then, I move on to pilates for about 30 minutes. After that, I shower, and dedicate 2 hours to filling out job applications. By the time that is over, I eat a quick lunch and workout for about 45 minutes more before picking up the youngest from school. Between that and an added workout in the evenings that the boys like getting involved in, I spend 3-4 hours daily working out… And I’m actually finally seeing some results in my midsection.
Now, if the workout was enough to rid myself of this nervous energy, I would be very happy. Unfortunately though, I think I need a new project. I’m not sure of how much more my body can take…
I’ll see you all tomorrow.
I get so mad when I see ads for shakes, pills, and all these gimmicks to lose weight. What none of them discuss is healthy ways to lose weight, and the fact that none of these solutions are actually healthy ways to lose weight. That’s what I want to discuss is a healthy way to lose weight.
All these people who say “I lose 10 pounds in a month drinking these shakes and I didn’t even change the way I ate.” really tick me off. If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, you know that I recently lost 10 pounds in a month. BY GETTING OFF MY BEHIND AND EXERCISING! I haven’t worked my ass off to do it, but I make the decision every day to get moving and exercise. I didn’t buy any equipment, and I sure didn’t buy any shakes or pills. I exercised in the comfort of my bedroom.
Something else that is a healthy way to lose weight is to actually drink 64 ounces of water every day. I start drinking water first thing every morning (before I drink my coffee), and I carry a 64 ounce jug of water around with me to help me realize how much more I NEED to drink. This doesn’t mean that I only drink the 64 ounces, I usually drink more than that, but I promised myself that I would start doing at least that every day.
On top of drinking water, yet another healthy way to lose weight is to actually eat right. Cut out the fast food, a lot of the sugars, and swap to whole grain pasta and bread. Cutting the amount of meat you eat is also a good way to lose weight, cut costs in your grocery bill, and to do something good for the environment.
My main point in writing this today is just to say be careful of all the things out there guaranteeing results… I have been guilty of trying some of them, and I have been guilty of starving myself to try to get to this idea of who I should be, but I have learned to opt for a healthy way to lose weight instead, and I feel so much better!
With my birthday less 30 days until my birthday, I want to do something to really give myself a boost and look my greatest, so this month we’ll be working on the little black dress challenge! This challenge will include many different types of exercises to get an all over benefit, and it will swap up each day, so we won’t get bored!
And what little black dress am I trying to get into? This one. Although, I’ve gotta say, I’m getting fonder of this one by the second! Continue reading Little Black Dress Challenge- Week One

Well, our month full of workouts is coming to an end! I don’t know about all of you, but I am pleased with my results so far and can wait to see what can come from keeping this up! This has really been great for me, because a lot of workout plans for women just really don’t cut it, but this one has!
Let’s take a look at my results from this last week-
Weight: 140 pounds
Yay… Another pound down. And about an inch and a half off. It’s not a lot, but it’s something. 🙂 Continue reading Workout Update: Week Four
